Plitvice Lakes National Park

There are really no words needed to describe my morning tour of the lakes. A group of maybe a dozen lakes that are stacked one above another creating a cascade of waterfalls. Once again the water is perfectly clear and the limestone makes water glow blue and green. It was truly spectacular.

One source of the water in the lakes is the Black Sea!

For the record, had a 8am ticket and took route C, starting at entrance 2. It took 4 hours at a moderate pace with a break for an iced tea and the boat and the shuttle bus ride. The last bit of the walk was arguably the best. And everything you read is true. It is continually packed - I but I found after an hour things opened up a bit.

Stayed a fabulous little B&B that actually had a little bbq dinner available around the backyard. I really needed something simple so I went with grilled chicken and veg with a simple salad and fries. Two beers. (They had trout and I would have loved a taste but I wasn't ready to order a whole fish. And they certainly don't come from the lakes.
