This is where the day gets a little tricky. If the is a city with a most terrible history during the post 2003 invasion it is Fallujah.
And we are going for —— lunch.
Yup turns out there is a great kabab restaurant. And it was. And what a surprise - after some serious checkpoints and despite some obvious residual infrastructure damage - the city is remarkably lovely.
It's clean of trash, the main boulevard is planted with flowers and there are reconstructed homes and businesses everywhere.
We ever stopped for delicious lemon ice cream. And took for selfies with the locals.
And then we got down to the Euphrates where there is a newly constructed promenade that leads right to the bridge where the American contractors bodies were hung.
Oh and Fallujah passes right by Abu Graib on the way from Baghdad.

Certainly a dynamic situation there w a rich past and uncertain future. Cant wait to hear more. So I take it you inhaled?!
