El Mirador

One the road today from Bariloche to San Martin de la Andres. It is a nice several hour ride along the seven lakes of the area. Just outside of Villa Angostura is a restaurant that you would never find without a heads up - thanks Mariana!

El Mirador hangs off the edge of the moutainside with views of the lake for 180 degrees. It is not fancy - just a little tree fort with loads of empty wine bottles lining the window sills and a ancient wood stove in the middle of the main room. It is also surrounded by an enormous deck. In addition to the setting and view, the food looks awesome - especially the Completo Uruguayo sandwich which is so far as I can tell - simple flat bread, mayo, beef loin, ham, country ham, cheese, a fried egg, roasted red peppers, green olives, sundried tomatoes, a piece of bib lettuce and another piece of mayo'd bread - and the best sandwich I have ever had!
