Wasting away in Korcula

Today was an unplanned and decidedly quiet day. That might have had something to do with the late night tower visit. Or maybe it's just been a long couple days.

Late breakfast. A wander around. Laze at Korcula's version of a beach and off to dinner. (Ps: the tiny beach was right in the shadow of the tower bar. And shockingly Cousin Monika knew exactly where the photo was taken. Including the dumb waiter system that they use to send the drinks up)

[dinner is carpaccio of sea bream with soy and rice wine vinegar and a very local dish called pasticada which it turns out I also had on the food tour in Split. It is slow roasted beef with gnocchi and plum in a rich red wine sauce. Both were very good.

I had a nice conversation, over wine, with some folks that are on a small cruise of the islands. Not sure it would be my style. Lots of fits and starts and not much time in each stop. They even have most of their meals on-board. I do think a private charter would be amazing.

Tomorrow is a full on travel day, ferry to Dubrovnik and then connect to the bus to Mostar in Bosnia. It means I won't need a swimsuit for a while. And almost everything I think I've learned over the last month, goes away.
