Iman Ali Holy Shrine

In the city of Najaf is one of the holiest Shite shrines. One of the most popular pilgrimage sites after Mecca. This is for all Shite Muslims - including Iranian, Yemeni etc. Najaf was filled with pilgrims. We were probably the only tourists.

(All women must wear the full burka)

Due to the significance of the site, millions of people elect to be buried here as well.
