If it’s Thursday it must be Dubai

For all that were worried - and I do appreciate, it was most - I am safely ensconced in Dubai.

It was a long day, as the flight did not leave Erbil until 930pm. With the hour time difference, my head hit the pillow somewhere around 230am

As you might imagine, Dubai is as big, modern, glitzy and sleek as you might imagine. I have chosen a boutique hotel near the Burj Khalifa in what is considered 'downtown' near the old historic section and what is know as the creek or waterway that winds inland.

I had a comfortable sleep in and a marginal room service breakfast and am now relaxing at the pool. I think I deserve it. Trying to put some plans in place for dining, a hammam spa and a day trip to Abu Dhabi.

  1. You’re in about the most culturally interesting part of Dubai that there is. Kind of fun to visit the indoor ski slope at the big mall though ๐Ÿ™‚ Can’t wait to hear about Abu Dhabi. Dine out to your heart’s content meanwhile.

    1. Agreed. But it is frustratingly hard to navigate. My first night I got lost trying to walk from the fountains to the Burj Khalifa.
