So today turned into a relaxing porteno day. I knew it would come but today was the day I realized how comfortable I had become in the city and regretted some of the time I spent lounging in the apartment when I should have been out and about.
The futbal match I was due to see tonight was changed at the last minute to Saturday at the much better local stadium - Boca Juniors! The tickets are a bit of a coup so it promises to be a good time. After uploading some pictures to the blog today I stopped at Milion which is an old mansion (there are many similarities to Rosemary's in Dusseldorf) I sat in the garden with a glass of wine and reflected on what a lucky bastard I am.
After a lovely siesta, when the match was changed, I headed out to dinner at Ovieda which is a Spanish seafood restaurant.
[there are bars and there are restauarants but there are few bar/restaurants which is a bit unfortunate for the solo traveller that wants to eat or even wait at the bar]
The setting and the food are excellent - a very nice Peruvian cerbiche (a tomoato based ceviche) and then a nice white fish (seabaum) over pumpkin gnochi. It was nice. So I am finishing my meal at my Buenos Aires version of the Rose and Crown - Casa Bar.
The news from Chile is very good and it seems that my original itinerary may hold after all. As one of my contacts said - the best thing you can do is come visit and see how resiliant the Chilean people are.
Time for mi casa.
