I suppose when traveling to Argentina there is one name that instantly comes to mind - Eva Marie Duarte Peron! (Evita to the young man from Australia who - was traveling for a year! - and had no idea and likely still doesn't)
First to her final resting place after 17 years bopping around the world as a corpse - the Recoleta cemetery which has some of the nicest mosseleums you have likely ever seen. Then on to the Evita museum which was small but interesting enough.
It was really hot again today so I thought I would kill some time at the rose gardens - sadly fall is not the best time for roses but it was a nice diversion until I met my concierge Delfina for a cup of coffee (turns out just behind the American embassy) She has been so helpful and she was so pleasant to sit and chat with - and her little Stella type doggie!
Last night i decided I needed to make some use of the asado (grill) before I depart. So I cobbled together the lamest little fire and grilled some sliced baquette with sliced fresh tomato and gryere cheese. Yummy! Then since it was a Monday and it was so nice on the deck - I walked across the plaza for some really good take-away deep dish pizza.
Tonight I find myself at what I hear is quite an authentic tapas bar. (Tancat - try googling that! haha) Where many of the dishes are diplayed on the bar and you pick and choose what strikes your fancy. It is very casual and nice and the food and the service are good!
And it has been a long day and I am tired (promise to post some more pictures by Friday)
